City was the street in Manhattan’s East Village neighborhood where the notorious nightclub 'The World' was located from 1983 to 1987. It was, in its relatively short life, an early incubator of New York’s house music and club kid scenes. 'The World' was an amazing melting pot of people, the club was visited by artists, celebrities... like Keith Haring or Brooke Shields; Prince, Grace Jones, and Madonna were all regulars; as well as fashion victims, drag queens, trans girls, club kids... So, this book is full of amazing images of Stephan Lupino. Definitely, a great reference photo book of this legendary NY nightclub of the 1980's, filled with cool atmosphere capturing the club scene and clientele as one would love to imagine it.  We're sure you know Studio 54 or Paradise Garage, but maybe you never heard about one of the most iconic nightclubs. This is your opportunity! Because 'The World' was glamorous, dirty glamour, and for sure it's at the top of nightclubs parties of all time. We once read about it "there will never be another club like 'The World' unless it’s post apocalypse".
