Marky Mark, 90’s icon, on cover in brightly patriotic colours. One of the Interview's most iconic. Cult issue with total shot by Bruce Weber. Besides Mark Wahlberg portfolio, includes also images of Juliette Lewis and Brad Pitt, Naomi Campbell, Patricia Arquette... Super nice!
From the 1990s Bruce Weber has been a prominent contributor to magazines at the very highest levels of the industry, credited with bringing more provocative images of the male body into public spotlight during the 1980s. And that was true for his mentors Irving Penn and Helmut Newton and his pal David Bailey—Bruce’s creative practice has continued to collapse the boundary between commercial and art photography.
“I don’t really work editorially in a large number of magazines because a lot of magazines don’t want my kind of photographs,” he has said, “it’s too risky for them”.
