Stromboli, 2001. Hardcover. 128 pp. 29 x 24,5 cm. Text in English. Used. VG+. This book is dedicated to their mother, and just that makes it beautiful. Davide Sorrenti, protagonist of the book and prominent fashion and youth culture photographer in the 90s creative scene of the New York city, passed away at the age of twenty, in 1997. His death was caused by complications arising from his illness (a genetic blood disorder) and drugs abuse. In this unusual photography book Mario Sorrenti, Davide's brother, shot four rolls of film about his sufferings one of many nights in an intimate sequence of photographs when he was sixteen. Another intensely private and unexpectedly fragile moment captured by Mario. The machine, is the title and the family name they used to refer to drug infusion pump that Davide was hooked up to nights, and which you can see on the images. We recommend you 'See Know Evil', the first documentary to describe his art and life of 90's fashion photographer and youth culture icon <3
